KTM India is planning to launch the Adventure 1190 motorcycle next year reports Motorbeam. The bike is expected to make its way to India officially after the RC 200 and the RC 390 are launched.
Few weeks ago, one KTM Adventure was spied in India near Kolar, Karnataka, for the first time along with the 950 Adventure which is not being sold anymore. The Austrian manufacturer is planning to get this bike to India through the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route which is pretty interesting as it can be easily come into the country through the completely-built-up (BU) route as the engine displacement is more than 800cc and doesn’t need homologation. If this happens, we can clearly say that the company is looking for very good sales numbers.
The 1190 Adventure is powered by a two-cylinder 1190cc liquid-cooled engine that churns out 145bhp of peak power and 125Nm of torque. The bike is considered to be one of the best adventure motorcycles in the world and now is the safest too. With regards to safety it features Bosch’s new MSC (Motorcycle Stability Control) that enhances the current lean-sensitive traction control, ABS and tyre pressure monitoring system.
The KTM 1190 Adventure is priced at 13,799 Euros (Rs 11.70 lakh) in Europe and is available in ‘R’ variant as well. It’s sold in two colour schemes – Orange and Grey. Expect the KTM 1190 Adventure to be priced very competitively if it comes via the CKD route.
