Bajaj will launch the new KTM 390 Duke in Mumbai tomorrow. This is probably the most anticipated launch of 2017.
There will be a total of three bikes launched – the new 390 Duke, a facelifted 200 Duke and another motorcycle that will sit between these two. Recently, the new 250 Duke was spied in India and that might bridge the gap between them.
The anticipation is because of KTM’s new design philosophy on the smaller Dukes. KTM has borrowed this design from its largest displacement motorcycle – the 1290 Super Duke. The styling seems to have managed to get a major fan following already. There’s also a new TFT instrument cluster on the 390 Duke that is bound to get a lot of attention. This cluster shows information in much clearer manner and sports a Bluetooth hands-free kit and audio player.
We’re expecting Bajaj to increase the price of the new 390 Duke by up to Rs 20,000 and that is quite a big jump. This leaves a gap of Rs 50,000 between the prices of the 200 and 390 Duke, and a model that splits that difference will certainly help draw more customers who would like more performance than the 200 Duke but not at the price point of the 390.
Stay tuned to BikeWale as we get you more information on the new KTM Dukes from the launch event tomorrow.
