- KTM conducts RC Cup selection round in Mumbai
- Selects the 10 fastest riders for qualifiers
- Selections to take place in seven more cities
With the aim to provide amateur riders with a platform to race and hone their skills, KTM has announced the RC Cup one-make racing championship in India. The selection rounds of the racing event have already begun starting from Mumbai where the 10 fastest riders were selected for the proceeding Qualifier round. A total of 130 riders participated in this round which was held on 14-15 January in Mumbai.
The succeeding selection rounds will be held in seven more cities including Vadodara, Delhi, Ranchi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore, and Chennai starting from 21 January to 12 March, 2023. KTM will select the 10 fastest riders from each city for the Qualifiers that will be held in Chennai at the Madras Motor Race Track (MMRT). These 80 riders will compete with each other and a few fastest racers will be promoted to the finale which will also be hosted at the MMRT under the aegis of FMSCI (Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India).
The top three winners of the RC Cup will get the opportunity to visit the global headquarters of KTM in Austria where they’ll get the privilege to train with KTM’s race director, interact with KTM Factory Racing athletes, watch MotoGP race live at the Red Bull ring, and visit the much hallowed KTM Motohall. Riders who aspire to enrol for the selection rounds of the RC Cup need to log on to KTM’s ProXP official website and register themselves at a fee of Rs 2,000. Interestingly, all the riders will compete astride the stock version of the KTM RC 390 GP Edition motorcycle.
