-Annual production of MV Agusta bikes to increase to over 10,000 units
Pierer Mobility AG, the parent company of KTM AG, has announced the acquisition of a 50.1 percent stake in MV Agusta motorcycles. With this, the Austrian company now holds a controlling stake in Varese, Italy-based MV Agusta.
KTM AG had initially acquired a 25.1 percent stake in MV Agusta back in November 2022 as part of capital increase. In October 2023 KTM AG took over the purchasing and supply chain of the Varese-based company. In addition to this, KTM AG also took care of the distribution of MV Agusta’s motorcycles through its channels.
While KTM AG had the option to acquire a majority stake in MV Agusta in December 2025, the option has now been taken prematurely. With the controlling stake in the Italian manufacturer, KTM AG will take over the industrial management of the company. There are plans to also increase the production capacity at MV Agusta’s Varese factory to over 10,000 units.
To recap, MV Agusta is a storied Italian manufacturer and makes one of the most beautifully-styled motorcycles in the world. From the MV Agusta F3 and F4 to the Brutale, these bikes are known to be absolute head turners. The company, however, has had its share of ups and downs including financial issues. However, under the ownership of Pierer Mobility AG, we wait to see the new direction that MV Agusta takes.
