- KTM RC 390 new Metallic Silver colour launched
- Price continues to be the same at Rs 2.53 lakh
After being spotted in a dealer stockyard recently, the new colour option of the KTM RC 390 has now been officially launched in India. It is called the Metallic Silver shade and will be sold at the same price of Rs 2.53 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new variant gets a light grey fuel tank with slightly darker fairing which is black at the bottom. Typical of a KTM, it sports bright orange colour on the tail section, frame and alloy wheels. KTM has kept the styling of its RC series unchanged ever since its inception while introducing new colour options time and again. However, the manufacturer is working on next-generation RC models which will boast of an all-new styling.
The existing RC 390 packs a lot of punch and handles sharply which is embodied in its profoundly sporty design. Clinging on its trellis frame is a 42.3bhp, 373cc, single-cylinder engine which comes mated to a slick-shifting six-speed transmission. The presence of a slipper-clutch prevents the rear wheel from hopping during aggressive down shifts and makes the overall ride more involving. Feature list includes a projector headlamp with LED turn indicators and tail lamp while the instrument cluster is an LCD unit.
Considering its displacement and body style, the KTM RC 390 competes against the TVS Apache RR 310. It also locks horns with the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha YZF R3 but these bikes are due to be launched in their BS6 avatars.
