- Slated to be officially unveiled in India on 20 September
- Powered by a 457cc parallel-twin cylinder motor
- Will rival the KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310 and more
Aprilia India is all set to officially unveil its latest offering here, the RS 457. The upcoming supersport takes inspiration from the larger bikes in the Aprilia stable, the RS 660 and the RSV4. With its debut, the RS 457 will mark itself as the most affordable Aprilia bike in the Indian market.
Aprilia has already unveiled the new RS 457 in the international market and has revealed quite a few details as well. The design looks sleek and seems to get a proper crouched rider triangle. The footpegs are rear set and the RS 457 gets a pair of low-set clip-ons, thereby having a committed riding stance. Its fascia consists of split LED headlights and a transparent visor followed by vents on the side fairing for aerodynamic purposes. Then, there’s the muscular-looking fuel tank protruding outside from the top.
Powering the new Aprilia RS 457 is a 457cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. It dishes out 47bhp and the torque figure is yet to be revealed. The engine is linked to a six-speed gearbox and benefits from an optional quickshifter too. Then, there are features like the ride-by-wire, three levels of traction control, ride modes, and dual-channel ABS.
Aprilia has also equipped the RS 457 with a fully digital TFT console. Along with all the necessary readouts, it also gets smartphone connectivity for added convenience. You can expect SMS and call notifications and more with the Bluetooth options.
The new Aprilia bike rides on adjustable USD front forks and a monoshock. Its braking hardware consists of a single front and rear discs mounted on 17-inch wheels. The alloy wheels will come with 110/70 front and 150/60 rear TVS Eurogrip Protorq Extreme tyres.
After the official unveiling tomorrow, we expect Aprilia to reveal the pricing very soon. It’s likely to cost north of Rs. 4 lakh and will rival the KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 400, and the upcoming Yamaha YZF R3.
