The KTM RC 390 has been doing many rounds in and around Pune. The test mule that was spotted last month has been spotted again, but this time, with the headlamp and daytime running lights (DRL) switched on.
This test mule, though in a disguised avatar, clearly resembles the RC390 that was unveiled last year at the EICMA event. The instrument cluster is clearly visible and looks exactly like the one that is featured on the Duke 390. The split seats have been designed in such a way that the rear seat looks like a cowl but we are not sure how practical it will be for a market like India.
The KTM RC 390 is powered by the same engine from the Duke 390 which is the 373.2cc liquid-cooled single cylinder unit that churns out 43.5bhp of power and 35Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. KTM has equipped this bike with the same under belly exhaust system seen on the Duke 390.
The launch of the KTM RC390 is expected to happen sometime this year but Bajaj has decided to keep this a secret. We won’t be surprised if we see the KTM RC 200 sharing the launch stage with the RC390.
