KTM has finally launched the RC200 for the Indian market, at Rs 1.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes India one of the first markets to get this motorcycle as well. Bookings have begun at all KTM Pro Biking showrooms and the deliveries are expected to commence soon.
The RC 200 is powered by a 200cc single cylinder four-stroke liquid cooled engine that is mated to a six-speed transmission. This engine produces 25bhp, which makes it the best in the segment. Borrowed from the Duke 200, the RC 200 also gets WP telescopic upside down front fork suspension, monoshock rear suspension, powder-coated tubular space frame made from steel tubes. The motorcycle gets ABS as standard, but can be switched off if the rider wants, by holding a button situated on the instrument console.
Just like the RC390, the motorcycle is available with only one colour option, but we can expect KTM to start selling the powerparts and powerwear for the bike soon. The bike is manufactured in Bajaj’s Chakan plant and is also exported worldwide. The KTM RC200 competes with the Yamaha R15, but when it comes to specs, it is far more better that the Japanese motorcycle.
