Looks like KTM wants US to become one of its biggest markets after Europe and Asia . After launching the Duke 690 in the US market last year, the Austrian manufacturer will also sell the RC390 and the Duke 390 in that market.
KTM has found confidence in the US market for these small capacity motorcycles. United States is primarily a big displacement motorcycle market but over the past few years it has been showing interest in smaller capacity bikes because of its usability, performance and of course, the price. The Duke 390 will retail for $4,999 (Rs 3.07 lakh) and its fully-faired sibling, the RC390 will have a price tag of $5,499 (Rs 3.38 lakh).
Bajaj will be exporting these bikes to US from their Chakan plant in Maharashtra. KTM’s small capacity bikes like the RC390, RC200, RC125 and the naked siblings are manufactured in Bajaj’s Chakan facility. Till now the company has exported KTM bikes to countries like Austria, Germany, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand and China.
