KTM have revealed the RC390 R, based on the standard RC390. It gets multiple upgrades making it even more track focused.
Limited to just 500 units globally, the RC390 R gets a new ‘Supersport R’ graphics kit. Mechanically it gets a specialized fully-adjustable WP suspension setup, foldable clutch and brake levers along with new handlebars for an even more aggressive riding position. The 373cc single-cylinder gets a shorter intake that gives the bike a slightly wider power band. The KTM RC390 R will retail at EUR 8500 (Rs 6.75 lakhs).
The manufacturer is also offering an SSP300 Race Kit that has around 230 parts to convert the RC390 R into a hardcore race bike. This kit includes a full-titanium Akrapovic EVO-02 exhaust system with a Race ECU along with an STM slipper clutch, quickshifter, wiring harness, spare wheels, an improved cooling system and race bodywork. However, KTM is only offering 50 kits per year priced at EUR 11,000 (Rs 8.69 lakhs).
Unfortunately, the SSP300 kit is only compatible with the RC390 R and cannot be fitted to the standard RC390. As for the Indian market, it is highly unlikely that the KTM RC390 R or the SSP300 Race Kit will make it here anytime soon.
