KTM has recalled the 2017 model of the 390 Duke and 125 Duke in Europe over sporadic cases of reboot of LED headlamp. Owing to the strict vehicular norms in Europe, the manufacturer has issued a recall notice to customers for a free software update. Although the manufacturer has not announced a recall in India, KTM dealers have been updating the software for the 390 Duke customers.
KTM Europe has issued a statement stating, “During the internal endurance testing, KTM experienced some cases of sporadic reboots of the LED headlight. As this may lead to potentially dangerous riding situations, the software of the headlight needs to be updated as soon as possible.” The malfunctioning Automatic ON Headlamp (AHO) feature is risky especially while riding at night.
KTM India has not issued an official statement stating recall for software update on the 390 Duke. However, dealers have confirmed about reaching out to customers for a software update.
