KTM has had a successful time in the 2013 edition of the gruesome Dakar rally. The brand’s factory rider Marc Coma crossed the finish line to take KTM’s 13th consecutive win, after running flawlessly throughout the 9,000km rally. To celebrate this success, the Austrian brand has revealed a production-spec replica of its Dakar-winning machine – the 450 Rally.
On sale in Europe for €24,000 (Rs 20.47 lakh), the 450 Rally replica gets an all-new frame, a slim body shape with a better seating position, completely re-worked rear suspension and an updated 450cc fuel-injected engine.
The bike gets front and rear fuel-pump system with multiple tanks, which allows the rider to pick a fuel source to utilise utilise the weight depending on the terrain. Additionally, a carbon tower at the front of the bike gives the rider better visibility of the front wheel. The Rally replica is now on sale in Europe. Interestingly, KTM is also offering a service and support package at the Dakar Rally at an additional cost.
