- Prototype form of KTM 790 Adventure was revealed
- Nearly 150 KTM fans saw the bike in person
- Production version will be unveiled at 2018 EICMA
It was only yesterday that we talked about the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure which was spied testing somewhere in Europe. Now, we’ll talk about its bigger sibling, the 790 Adventure that was showcased to a closed group.
The Austrian maker showed a prototype 790 Adventure to around 150 KTM fans who had come to attend the company’s European Rally Adventure in Sardinia. While the manufacturer didn’t reveal many details about the bike, it did make a reference to the bike’s wider torque spread. The 790cc parallel twin motor on this is from the 790 Duke, but it has been retuned to meet the adventure riding nature.
Just like its naked bike sibling, the production version will also be loaded with latest gadgets like cornering-ABS, multi-level traction control system and ABS. Other than this, the bike is rumoured to have adjustable ergonomics. This means the handlebar and the footpegs can be adjusted based on the rider’s preferences.
The production version of the 790 Adventure will be revealed at the 2018 EICMA. We’re expecting the worldwide sale to begin from early 2019, but unfortunately, it won’t make it to India anytime soon. However, the 390 Adventure which is also expected to be unveiled alongside the 790 Adventure, will be launched in India next year. It will be made in Bajaj’s Chakan plant, and that translates to competitive pricing.
