KTM UK has opened entries for the KTM British Junior Cup 2015. It will feature a specially prepped version of the RC390 which has been priced at £6425(Rs 6.1 lakh) and can only be bought through KTM dealerships.
This race prepped RC390 has been fitted with fully-adjustable WP suspension, Akraprovic exhaust, track fairings, CNC rearsets, R&G sliders and many more such KTM PowerParts. This racing event is open to participants in the age group of 13-18 years. They can enter the race series by paying a registration cost of £2,100(Rs 2.08 lakh). Interested riders will need to put down a deposit of £300 on the BSB website to activate their inclusion for the championship. Riders and teams who confirm to the series before January 16, 2015 will receive an additional set of wheels, ideal for fitting with wet weather tyres.
“The series has been created to provide equal opportunity and a level playing field for emerging talent and will be spread across eight events incorporating 20 points-scoring races," said KTM in a press release.
Given that KTM manufacturers the RC390 in India, it seems possible that they will introduce the series for India at a later stage but obviously with the numbers of races reduced and bikes toned down for cost reasons.
