- New 890 Duke unveiled
- Gets bigger engine
- India launch likely
KTM has finally unveiled the 790 Duke replacement – the 890 Duke. This bike is positioned a step below the fast and furious 890 Duke R.
The new 890 Duke gets similar styling and bodywork of the outgoing model, but it now gets revised graphics to differentiate itself from the 790 variant. The major changes seen on this bike is mechanical in the form of a bigger engine.
The 890 Duke is powered by a new 889cc parallel-twin that is seen on its R sibling and also the 890 Adventure, but in a different state of tune. This engine now makes around 10bhp more and also generates more torque, but is considerably less powerful than the 890 Duke R. Other new additions on the bike have come in the form of new brake calipers and pads and lower seat height. The overall weight hasn’t increased and that means the 890 Duke gets better power-to-weight ratio.
The 890 Duke will the international markets in a few weeks. In fact, we are expecting this bike to make its way to Indian market sometime this year. But hopefully, KTM India prices this bike sensibly this time around and stay away from heavy discounts.
