KTM have updated their official India website with information about the launch of the RC 200 and the RC 390 in India. The site earlier read as “Not available in India” and now has been changed to “Coming soon to India”.
The much hyped motorcycles which were revealed to the world few days ago during the EICMA event, Italy, will be made in India and exported to various international markets as well. The motorcycles are expected to be showcased in India at the 2014 Auto Expo and will be launched after that.
The RC 200 is powered by a 200cc single cylinder four-stroke liquid cooled engine, mated to a six-speed transmission, churning out 25bhp. Borrowed from the Duke 200, the RC 200 also gets WP telescopic upside down front fork suspension, mono-shock rear suspension, powder- coated tubular space frame made from steel tubes. The KTM RC 390 is powered by the same single cylinder 373cc engine that powers the Duke 390. It produces 43bhp and 35Nm of torque and has been mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. ABS is standard on both the RCs which is pretty good for any rider’s safety.
We are expecting KTM India to price the RC 200 and the RC 390 at approximately Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 2.4 lakh each and that will make it one of the most affordable fully-faired motorcycles in India.
