- KTM testing an urban EV
- Batteries are placed under the floorboard
- Sports Duke like TFT screen
The world is moving towards greener transporation, so it’s small wonder then for the bike makers to bring in some EVs pretty soon. KTM is working towards reducing the carbon emissions and to confirm that, this e-scooter was recently captured on camera.
The e-scooter prototype didn’t sport any seat, but gets an electric motor that is placed on the left-side of the rear wheel. The batteries are tucked below the floorboard, and on the right side there’s a belt that has something to do with energy regeneration system. The scooter is riding on large wheels, possibly a 19 or 21-inch at the front, and 16-inch at the rear.
The report suggests that the rider who was riding the EV on an uphill road was continuously looking at the TFT screen. It looks like the rider was monitoring the battery consumption on uphill roads. There’s a high chance that the spotted KTM EV won’t make it to the market anytime soon. It is rather being used as a development platform to build its future electric vehicles.
