- Kymco Racing S150 revealed
- Powered by a 149cc engine
- Will not be launched in India
Taiwanese company Kymco has unveiled the Racing S150 scooter in Japan. The scooter, with its 149cc, single-cylinder engine would be a fitting rival to the Aprilia SR160 that is sold in India.
The motor it uses gets a four-valve head and an electronic fuel injection system and is capable of churning out 13bhp at 7500rpm. In comparison, the Aprilia churns out 10.84bhp and 11.6Nm from its 160cc engine. Now, the Kymco Racing S150 sports edgy styling that is closely similar to the Yamaha Ray ZR at first glance. It gets split headlamps with turn signals built into the handlebar apron.
Riding on 12-inch wheels at both ends the Racing S150 uses 110/70 front and 12/70 section tyres. Meanwhile, braking is done by disc brakes- 240mm at the front and 200mm at the rear. Suspension hardware is standard with telescopic forks up front and twin springs at the rear.
As for features, the scooter is kitted with a Bluetooth enabled display that shows call and SMS, and connects to a smartphone to show ride information as well. Convenience comes in the form of compartments in the front apron, a sizeable underseat storage and a 5.7-litre fuel tank.
