- Is powered by an oil-cooled 164.82cc single-cylinder motor
- Borrows styling from the Pulsar N250
- Is offered in four colours overall
Bajaj Auto has launched its latest Pulsar model in India in the form of the N160. It’s priced at Rs 1,22,854 for the single-channel ABS model and Rs 1,27,853 (both ex-showroom Delhi) for the dual-channel ABS version. Here’s what it has to offer for the aforementioned price.
Design-wise, the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 looks similar to the Pulsar N250. It gets the same MT-15-like fascia housing the LED projector unit flanked by brow-like LED DRLs. Its side and rear profile too appear similar to its 250cc sibling.
The Pulsar N160 is powered by an oil-cooled 164.82cc single-cylinder motor that’s mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine develops 15.7bhp and 14.65Nm. That’s 1bhp less than the Pulsar NS160. On the feature front, the new Pulsar gets a part analog and part digital console.
Suspension duties are done by conventional telescopic forks and monoshock. As for the braking hardware, the Pulsar N160 gets a single front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS as well as single-channel ABS (two variants). It rides on 17-inch alloys.
Bajaj offers the N160 single-channel ABS model in three colours – Racing Red, Techno grey and Caribbean Blue – while the dual-channel ABS is offered only in Brooklyn Black paint scheme.
In the 160cc segment, the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has already set a benchmark considering the package it offers. That said, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 also has other foes like the Hero Xtreme 160R as well as the Suzuki Gixxer in its segment.
