- Features TFT display and smartphone connectivity
- Powered by the same 155cc single-cylinder motor
- Cost the same as before
Yamaha India has launched an updated version of the R15M. The bike now packs a couple of more features than before and here’s what we know about it.
The R15M is now equipped with a new TFT screen with smartphone connectivity, day/night modes, parking location, and other essential readouts like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level, and gear position indicator. Yamaha has also equipped the bike with LED turn indicators; both bits are exclusive to the M variant. Moreover, all Yamaha bikes will be powered by Ethanol compliant engines by the end of 2023.
That said, the design cues have been carried. So, it gets the same youthful styling with sharp bodywork, clip-on handlebars, and a split seat setup. Even the mechanical bits are the same as before – 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with VVA dishing out 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm. It’s mated to a six-speed gearbox and packed in a Deltabox frame suspended on USD front forks and a monoshock. The 282mm front disc and a 220mm rear unit, mounted on 17-inch alloys, remain unaltered.
The asking price for the Yamaha R15 V4 range remains unchanged. So, the Metallic Red and Dark Knight (new paint scheme) are priced at Rs 1,80,900 and Rs 1,81,900 respectively. Meanwhile, the Racing Blue and M trim cost Rs 1,85,900 and Rs 1,93,900 (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
