- Shares its underpinnings and engine with the Benelli TRK 502
- Road-biased and off-road focussed variants revealed
- Off-road variant uses tubeless tyre compatible spoke wheels
Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer, QJMotor will soon announce its new middleweight adventure tourer motorcycles that will be based on the Benelli TRK 502. QJ Motor is a subsidiary of Qianjiang, the Chinese brand that also owns Benelli.
Similar to the TRK 502, the new QJ SRT 500 will be available in road-biased and off-road focussed avatars. The road-biased QJ SRT 500 will feature alloy wheels while its off-road spec version will use tubeless-tyre compatible wire-spoke wheels. It will be interesting to see if Benelli introduces the cross-spoke design to the next-generation TRK 502X.
The hardware, similar to the TRK 502, includes premium features such as upside-down telescopic front forks and a mono-shock at the back to perform the suspension duties. The braking setup features twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back. The QJ SRT 500 also shares its engine and tubular steel chassis with the TRK 502 series.
While the underpinnings and hardware are similar to the Benelli TRK 502, the styling is noticeably different. The QJ SRT 500 uses a subtle design than the Benelli TRK 502. The SRT 500 features a more compact front fascia that includes projector-style headlight setup. The fairing, too, gets a different design than the TRK 502 series.
Apart from the 500cc model, QJMotor is also working on a higher displacement adventure tourer, the SRB750. The motorcycle was revealed through a leaked image.
