- Is made from 15,000 Lego Technic bricks
- Weighs 8kg more than the original
- Comes with the 998cc, Desmosedici Stradale engine
Ducati unveiled the toy scale Lego Technic Panigale V4R not too long ago. And now, taking the scale more than a couple of notches higher, the Italian manufacturer has unveiled a life-sized, fully functional model of the superbike made from Lego bricks in Modena, Italy.
Resisting the temptation to use any modelling software, creator Ricardo Zangelmi and his team handcrafted the replica using 15,000 Lego Technic components in 400 man-hours. The model, which is built on a stripped-off Panigale V4 R is held together using beams and pins instead of glue. And interestingly it weighs only 8kg more than the original motorcycle which tips the scale at 172kg.
The life-sized Lego replica comes with the 998cc, Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, and all the fancy equipment the original Panigale V4R boasts off. Nevertheless, unlike the Lego Technic version, the 1:1 Lego model is not on sale currently and is likely to go on display at Ducati’s Borgo Panigale factory in Italy.
