- Will be built in collaboration with a motocross brand called 100%
- Showcased at EICMA 2023
- India launch unlikely
American two-wheeler marker, Indian Motorcycles has announced a new limited edition FTR R model. It is called the FTR X 100% R Carbon and has been built with the motocross brand called 100%. The bike was unveiled at ECIMA 2023 and here is what we know about it.
On the design front, the new Indian FTR X 100% R Carbon looks similar to the stock FTR R Carbon. However, the bodywork is draped in carbon fibre and too in a colour called Blue Candy. So, the headlight bezel, fuel tank, pillion seat cowl, and front fender get the aforementioned finishing which is highlighted by a contrasting white paint on the chassis. Adding to the aesthetics are the red accents on the bottom panel, the Indian logo on the fuel tank, and the red on the wheels. It doesn’t end here. The new FTR X 100% R Carbon rides on rather unconventional blacked-out Ohlins front forks with golden tubes. The exhaust pipes and the canister tips also get the same treatment.
Apart from the aforementioned cosmetic highlights, the FTR X 100% R Carbon gets the same engine as the standard bike. It is a 1,203cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 121bhp and 117Nm. The braking hardware includes Brembo brakes at both ends mounted on 17-inch cast wheels shoed with 120/70 front and 180/55 rear Metzeler tyres.
Its list of features comprises a four-inch TFT screen with smartphone connectivity. Then, there are ride modes (rain, standard, sport), lean angle sensitive ABS, stability control, traction control, wheelie and rear lift mitigation, USB charge port, and cruise control.
Indian Motorcycles will only produce 400 units of the FTR X 100% R Carbon. 150 of the total will be sold in the USA and the remaining 250 will be offered in the other markets. However, the possibility of it landing in India is very low.
