Not long ago, Piaggio India launched the limited edition Vespa Esclusivo in the Indian market. The brand, however, isn’t stopping there just yet. If recent reports are to be believed, the Italian automobile giant will launch yet another limited edition model called Vespa Elegante.
Like the Esclusivo, the new Vespa Elegante will be based on the standard Vespa VX 125 but with a host of cosmetic upgrades for a distinctive appearance. The scooter reportedly will borrow design cues from Vespa’s popular international model called Primavera. The Elegante, as a result, may feature a triangular front grille, round head light, and tubeless tyres. Interestingly, the brand might also offer retro split seat configuration for this new model.
The new limited edition model will be offered in new colours like Pearl White and Marrakech Brown, besides the regular vibrant colour options the VX 125 comes with. Mechanically, the Vespa Elegante will remain the same as the standard model, featuring a 125cc air-cooled engine.
The Vespa Elegante is expected to go on sale during the festive season in September. Expect the model to carry a price tag of around Rs 79,000 when it joins the company’s existing line-up of scooters which includes the LX 125, VX 125 and the Vespa S.
