Piaggio India will launch the Limited edition Vespa Elegante for the Indian market on September 16. The new model will get a few changes setting it apart from the current scooter and it is expected to be priced around Rs 79,000.
The company had earlier introduced a limited edition Vespa Esclusivo which was based on the standard Vespa VX 125. The new Vespa Elegante will also be based on the same VX 125 but will borrow design traits from the company's international model - Primavera. The host of cosmetic upgrades may include a triangular front grille, round head light, and tubeless tyres. Interestingly, the brand might also offer retro split seat configuration for this new model.
There would be no mechanical changes and the Vespa Elegante will be powered by the same 125cc air-cooled engine the current Vespa is equipped with. Apart from the current vibrant colour options the VX 125 is available in, the Elegante will be offered in new colours like pearl white and marrakech brown.
The Italian manufacturer will widen their Indian portfolio by adding this new scooter to their existing scooters. At present the existing line-up of scooters includes the LX 125, VX 125 and the Vespa S.
