Ducati has unveiled the new, limited-edition Panigale V4 SP2 for the international markets. The company may bring a few units of the motorcycle to India as well. This new variant of the Panigale series stands out for its equipment with the typical technical specifications of the abbreviation ‘SP’ or Sport Production.
The upgrades over the standard model include an even more powerful braking system, lightweight carbon rims, final drive, dry clutch from the WorldSBK bikes, racing footpegs, and a series of carbon components. The bike is delivered with a kit for track use, which brings billet aluminium caps for the removal of rear-view mirrors, a kit for removing the license plate holder, and an open carbon clutch cover. In terms of styling, the Panigale V4 SP2 features the ‘Winter Test’ livery which includes matte black paint on the fairings along with matte carbon finish on the rims and wings, contrasting with the bright red accents and exposed brushed aluminium tank.
The mechanical specifications on the Panigale V4 SP2 include a 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale, V4-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that delivers 215.5bhp of power at 13,000rpm. The performance could be further boosted with the new full titanium Ducati Performance racing exhaust. This exhaust reduces the weight of the motorcycle by five kilograms and increases the power by 12.5bhp, bringing the maximum output to 228bhp. The peak torque rises to 131Nm. Other improvements include a track-oriented gearbox, lightened final drive with a 520 chain, and the STM-EVO SBK dry clutch.
The suspension setup includes Ohlins NPX25/30 pressurised front forks and Ohlins TTX36 shock at the back. The braking hardware features exclusive Brembo Stylema R front brake callipers.
