Ducati Motors has announced the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary edition for several international markets. The motorcycle, which will be produced in limited numbers, could arrive in the Indian market, although the official details are not available yet. While we await those details, here we bring you a detailed image gallery of the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary edition.
The Ducati Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary edition pays homage to the legendary career of Troy Bayliss. The motorcycle celebrates the first of the three World Superbike titles won by the Australian rider.
The limited-edition model features a special livery with graphics inspired by that of the 996 R motorcycle that Bayliss used in the 2001 season. The progressive numbering of this model is visible on the billet aluminium triple clamp.
The base paint is a Ducati Red with highlights of green and white colours. The fairing features the number 21 (Troy Bayliss' race number) and a Shell logo, while Troy's autograph is visible on the fuel tank.
The Bayliss edition also gets sport grips, silencer outlet cover in carbon fibre and titanium, and the rider seat with double red stitching and number 21 embroidered in white.
The mechanical specifications retain the 955cc, twin-cylinder engine that makes 152.8bhp of power at 10,750rpm and 104Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm.
The special edition model weighs three kilograms less than the standard version. The lower weight has been achieved with the use of a lithium-ion battery and a single-seater configuration.
The suspension setup on the Panigale V2 Bayliss 1st Championship 20th Anniversary edition includes Ohlins NX30 front forks and a TTX36 rear shock absorber. The motorcycle also uses Ohlins steering damper.
The electronic rider aids include cornering ABS, a bi-directional quickshifter, traction control, wheelie control, and three riding modes (Race, Sport, and Street).
