American motorcycle company, Indian Motorcycle is celebrating its 120-year anniversary with the limited-edition Chieftain Elite. The premium model from Indian Motorcycle will be limited to just 120 units worldwide, making it the company’s most exclusive Elite model yet. The limited-run model gets a two-tone, Thunder Black Vivid Crystal over Carbon Crystal paint. The model also gets Thunderstroke 116’s Slate Smoke finish and colour-matched badging throughout.
The paint process for the limited-edition takes more than 24 hours to complete by hand. The company has gunmetal flake layered within the paint for a custom feel. The lowered suspension and a 19-inch machined front wheel under an open front fender further enhance the bike’s custom-inspired design of the limited-edition Chieftain Elite.
The company will offer a range of optional accessories to further personalise the 2021 Chieftain Elite. The list includes a variety of handlebars, seats, a low profile quick release passenger sissy bar, backrest pad, colour-matched remote-locking trunk, and colour-matched hard lower fairings with adjustable air vents.
The mechanical specifications include the Thunderstroke 116 air-cooled engine that churns out 171Nm of pea torque. The motorcycle also benefits from the rear cylinder deactivation function to deliver improved rider comfort riding in slower traffic. The electronic suite also includes three selectable ride modes – Tour, Standard, and Sport.
The standard equipment includes full LED lighting, a tinted flare windshield with push-button power, spacious aluminium select floorboards, and an integrated 400-watt PowerBand audio system. Other features that also come as standard include ABS, keyless ignition, tyre pressure monitoring, and weatherproof and remote-locking saddlebags. The instrument cluster on the 2021 Chieftain Elite includes a seven-inch Ride Command infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.
