- Suzuki Katana Red launched in Japan
- Is limited to 100 units
- No word about its India launch
Suzuki had unveiled the Katana with a new colour scheme in March 2020 but the launch was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the manufacturer has finally launched the motorcycle in Japan.
The new colour scheme called Candy Daring Red is a special edition and only 100 units will be available in Japan. The colour scheme which was also offered on the now discontinued Hayabusa features all over the Katana’s minimal bodywork including the wheels. On the other hand, the engine, mid-section, and swingarm are finished in contrasting matte-black.
Adding to its look, Suzuki has adorned the Katana with golden fork bottles and golden handlebar. Moreover, the motorcycle’s seat also gets red stitching that adds to its exclusivity. Although the changes are limited to its exterior and the Suzuki Katana Red continues to use the same 998cc, inline-four cylinder engine that produces 148bhp and 107Nm. It even offers the same suspension and braking hardware as well as electronic aids.
While there is no word about the Suzuki Katana’s India launch yet, we can expect the manufacturer to introduce the motorcycle in the country sometime next year with the Candy Daring Red in limited numbers.
