Livewire –a newly created electric motorcycle company from Harley-Davidson has some big ambitions. The company wants to sell 1 lakh EVs in 2026.
This information was leaked through their investor presentation. This presentation says that the company is aiming to achieve 1 lakh sales a year by 2026. And by 2030, this sales will touch 1.9 lakh sales a year. These big numbers clearly suggests that the American brand has line-up of new electric motorcycles in the pipeline.
In fact, the brand is planning to enter the affordable end of the segment. It has entered an agreement o jointly develop EVs with Kymco. They have developed a new S2 architecture that will be used to build new EVs. The S2 Del Mar – a street motorcycle is likely to be the first motorcycle to come out of this platform.
We can expect the new Livewire EVs to come to India eventually, but at a price tag that is bound to make it extremely exclusive. Harley’s India operations is being controlled by Hero MotoCorp, which is a company that has lots of money and resources. So we can expect some major developments from them in the world of EVs.
