- New Aprilia RS440 global unveil tomorrow
- Will get a brand new 440cc parallel-twin engine
- Launch in India soon
Piaggio Group is all set to unveil one of its most significant projects ever, the RS440, for global markets tomorrow, 7 September.
The brand has been releasing some teaser pictures of this upcoming sports bike. From the teasers and test mules, it is clear that the RS440 will borrow design inspiration from its bigger sibling – the RS660. The bike will sport split LED headlights topped by a transparent visor. Then, the side panels and the overall bodywork, too, are pretty sporty.
The RS440 will be powered by a 440cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled motor that will likely be an under-bored version of the RS660’s unit. It could develop 48bhp and have a top speed of around 180kmph. The engine will be mated to a six-speed gearbox and benefit from a slipper clutch and quickshifter. Meanwhile, the features list could comprise a fully digital TFT, smartphone connectivity, ABS, full-LED illumination, and more.
Currently, there aren’t many details of this Italian motorcycle, but we all know that the bike will be made in India and exported worldwide. Once launched, it will compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and, to an extent, the KTM RC 390.
