- UK gets a new A2 fully-faired bike
- RS457 is manufactured in India
- One of the most expensive bikes in the segment
Aprilia has finally launched the RS457 in the UK market. The bike has been priced close to Rs 6.8 lakh and is exported from India.
The Aprilia RS457 competes with the Kawasaki Ninja 400 and also the Yamaha YZF-R3. Now with the introduction of the RS457, the A2 license holders in the UK will have more options to choose from. The brand is expecting to garner good sales from this bike. However, this Aprilia is more expensive than most of their rivals. The Yamaha YZF-R3 is marginally more expensive than the RS457.
The RS457 gets its power from a 457cc, parallel-twin cylinder engine with liquid cooling. This motor makes close to 47bhp and 43.5Nm of peak torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. A bi-directional quick-shifter is available as an option. It rides on 17-inch wheels that are suspended by upside-down forks and a mono-shock with preload adjustability at both ends. Braking is handled by a single disc front and back with dual-channel ABS. The bike is equipped with full LED illumination, a five-inch TFT to toggle through rider aids like engine maps, traction control, ABS, anti-roll system, and three riding modes.
The Aprilia RS457 is available in three colours for India as well as the international markets. The Italian brand currently produces this bike at its plant in Baramati.
