- India-made Gixxer SF 250 model to be exported to Mexico and Colombia
- Gixxer 250 to be exported to Colombia initially
- Both models remain mechanically and cosmetically the same
Suzuki Motorcycles India could soon see a healthy growth in terms of exports as the recent Made-in-India Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 models are slated for sale in the Latin American market. While the fully-faired Gixxer SF 250 will be sold in Mexico and Colombia, the naked Gixxer 250 will be initially limited to only the Colombian market. Notably, prior to the launch of the motorcycles in the Latin American markets, they will be first introduced in the Japanese market.
For the international markets, both motorcycles will remain mechanically as well as cosmetically the same. Featuring the same design language, the bikes will be powered by the same 249cc liquid-cooled unit that registers 26.1bhp of max power and 22.6Nm of peak torque. The motor will continue to come mated to a six-speed gearbox. On the feature-front, the bikes are equipped with a full-LED headlamp, digital instrument cluster and dual-channel ABS. While the faired SF 250 gets clip-on handlebars, the naked comes with a wide flat-type handlebar.
Besides the new Gixxer 250 models, Suzuki Motorcycles India has been also exporting a couple of its products to Latin America. While the company still retails the soon-to-be-discontinued special edition variants of the previous edition Gixxer models in the country, they continue to be on sale in Colombia and Mexico. In addition to that, the company also exports the Intruder 150 and Burgman Street 125 in the same market.
