Sales numbers of the Maestro Edge have shot past the Maestro, making it the top-selling scooter in Hero MotoCorp’s line-up. Such is the demand for the 110cc scooter, that it currently commands a waiting period stretching from one month to 45 days in major cities across the country.
While new buyers prefer to go for the lighter and more affordable Hero Duet, the Maestro Edge seems to have hit a chord with experienced riders. The Maestro Edge VX, despite being the more expensive version, is the favourite among buyers. This version comes kitted with alloy wheels as well a USB mobile charging point under the seat. While the scooter is available in seven paint schemes, the matte blue has proven to be the most popular colour.
The Hero Maestro Edge is being sold alongside its predecessor, the Maestro. Both these models collectively sold over 65,000 units in October 2015, making Maestro the second most popular scooter brand in the Indian market, second to the Honda Activa. While there has been a marginal drop in the Maestro’s sales, Hero as of now has no plans to discontinue this cheaper variant.
