-Deliveries expected to begin late 2024
-New updates have caused the delay
-Pre booking amount to be credited to the customers
The Matter Aera electric motorcycle has been delayed yet again. The deliveries were supposed to begin last year but the company has stated that the deliveries will commence during the festive season, which will be in late 2024. The deliveries will begin in a phased manner, starting from Ahmedabad.
The company says that Aera is delayed because of a set of updates that are goinng to be added to the motorcycle. We recently rode the bike and found it to have a lot of pros and a few cons. Matter says that they are improving various parameters of the electric motorcycle.
The list of updates includes an improved thermal management system. Matter has done so by upgrading the cooling system to handle extreme temperatures. The company shall also update the 4-speed gearbox for smoother shifts and a more refined regenerative braking.
While the updates to the bike are always welcome and Matter says they are striving to offer a well built product, the delays in deliveries must be frustrating customers who’ve put down their money to book the bike. As a goodwill gesture, the company has decided to credit the pre booking amount to its customers while maintaining the booking.
The Matter Aera 5000+ is India’s first electric motorcycle with a gearbox. It has a 10KW motor that is powered by a 5kWh battery. The claimed range in Eco mode is 125km.
The bike is priced at Rs 1.84 lakh, ex-showroom, Ahmedabad. Its rivals are the Tork Kratos R and Revolt RV 400.
