Superbikes are associated with power and that downright thrill of speed that other segments do not necessarily offer. With some superbikes, you could ride them all day around the track while some also serve a more practical purpose. We’ve listed five superbikes we’ve ridden this year that fit the bill.
MV Agusta F3 800
The Italians are known to dress well and their bikes don’t remain far behind either. MV Agusta is the Gucci of the motorcycling world and the F3 800 is the exotic product. I am sure you get it by now…
The bike, with its low clip-ons and high rear set foot pegs gives you an aggressive stance right from standstill. Although does the 798cc in-line three engine supersport priced at Rs 16.31 lakhs ex-showroom Mumbai impress? Find out from the expert.
Triumph Street Triple 765 RS
We already have the Street Triple 765 S in India priced at Rs 8.84 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai). The RS on the other hand is the more tech laden, track-focused, and powerful sibling. It delivers 12bhp more than the S and features Brembo brakes, an Ohlins suspension setup at the rear and quickshifter as standard. Triumph will launch the Street triple RS in India by early next year, but is it worth the wait?
Kawasaki Z900
This streetfighter from the Japanese manufacturer blew up the market with its value for money. The Z900 is almost as powerful as the Z1000 but all in the size of the Z800. The base variant of the bike is priced at an incredible Rs 7.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). What opinion does our expert have on this seemingly perfect offering?
Ducati Monster 797
The 797, priced at Rs 8.28 lakhs (ex-showroom,Mumbai), is the most affordable Monster in India. A Monster with ergonomics so comfortable that you would not mind taming it on regular days (pun intended). The Monster 797 uses the same engine as the Scrambler range; an 803cc L-twin air-cooled engine. This unit produces 74bhp of power and 68.6Nm of torque. Here’s what most impressed us about the baby Monster from Italy.
Suzuki GSX-R1000
The Suzuki GSX-R name is a legacy with the first one launching almost two decades ago. Suzuki has not let us down with the 2017 GSX-R1000 either. The manufacturer’s flagship supersport is priced at Rs 18.47 lakhs (ex-showroom,Mumbai) and is tech-laden to the brim. It uses an in-line four 1000cc engine which produces 196bhp and 118Nm of torque. We rode the GSX-R1000 where it belongs, on the track. Is it better than its rivals?
