Images from first ever studio shoot of the upcoming Royal Enfield Café Racer 535 has surfaced on the web. A prototype of the Café Racer was first unveiled during 2012 Delhi Auto Expo but there was no official statement regarding the production version. However, now the Chennai based manufacturer has showcased the production spec version at the 2012 Long Beach International motorcycle show.
The new motorcycle will be powered by a 535cc unit construction engine (UCE) engine. However, the power and the torque figures haven’t been disclosed by the company yet. This Café Racer is expected to be the fastest single-seater in Royal Enfield’s product portfolio.
The Café Racer might share some parts with the new Thunderbird to make it more cost effective. Rear view mirrors have been placed at the edge of the handle bar giving it a more retro look and attractive. It also gets a long fuel tank and rear set foot pegs to give it the typical café racer look.
Café Racer 535 might go on sale in India next year but there is no confirmation from the company’s end. We expect this new motorcycle will start rolling out from company’s upcoming manfacturing plant at Oragadam, Chennai. It will also be exported to United Kingdom and United States where there is demand for Royal Enfield’s products.
