We know that there’s a new bigger Scrambler coming to us. But here, we’re going to talk about the 803c Scramblers.
As per a leaked CARB (California Air Resources Board)document, Ducati has submitted six Scrambler models for emission approval. All these six models have names associated with it, with some being called the Scrambler CR and the Scrambler DS. While the internet speculations says that these are the new versions of the Scrambler (café racers or dual sport); we believe these are the Euro 4 compliant models.
January 1, 2017 is when the Euro 4 emission norms come into effect in Europe. Currently, all six of Ducati’s models – the Icon, Urban Enduro, Full Throttle, Classic, Flat Track Pro and the Italian Independent are Euro 3 compliant. The smaller Scrambler version – the Sixty 2 is already a Euro 4 version, so this bike won’t be touched for long, at least mechanically. However, when it comes to rest of the 803cc bikes, the updated versions are imminent, either at 2016 Intermot or the 2016 EICMA.
We’re keeping a close watch on the Ducati developments. Stay tuned to BikeWale.
