The faired version of the Suzuki Gixxer has been spied undisguised before its launch. Here are more pictures of the motorcycle reportedly taken at the company's stockyard.
The motorcycle had been sighted on test earlier in a disguised avatar and then the camouflage hid a lot of details. However, with the new images, the new fairing is clearly visible with the new decals. It extends right up to the front of the engine. This fully-faired version of the Suzuki Gixxer is expected to be sold as the Suzuki Gixxer SF.
As it is based on the Gixxer, the bike retains most of the features from the sibling. The seats, rear section and tyres are the same. The new addition is the fairing which will get a transparent windshield. According to reports, it will be available in five colours - pearl mirage white, metallic triton blue, glass sparkle black, candy red and metallic grey.
The new faired Gixxer is expected to borrow the same powertrain from its naked sibling. The Gixxer is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled carbureted mill that churns out 14.59bhp of power and 14Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a five-speed gearbox, which will continue to be the same. However, Suzuki might retune this motor to churn out some more in order to account for the additional weight of the fairing.
The Japanese manufacturer might soon launch this faired motorcycle for the Indian market at a slightly higher price than the Gixxer. The faired Gixxer will go up against the Yamaha Fazer V2.0 and the Honda CBR150R when it goes on sale in our country.
