KTM has been testing the RC series of motorcycles in India for quite a long time now and we have seen many test mules of both the RC 390 and RC 200 being tested. Now we have some more spy shots of the RC 390 being tested. The motorcycle might be launched in the coming month.
The first two shots are of the test mules which do not get any brand stickering. However, the other two pictures of the bike might be of the final production version of the motorcycle as it gets all the decals. The RC 390 is based on the naked Duke 390 and gets an additional fairing. The twin projector headlamps with DRLs, clip-on handlebars also set the RC 390 apart from the younger sibling.
The RC 390 will be powered by the same engine seen on the Duke 390. That is, the 373cc single cylinder water-cooled engine will be carried over. This mill produces 44bhp of power and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The RC 390, a fully-faired version of the Duke 390, is a perfect entry-level track machine that will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan facility, sold in India and also exported worldwide. The bike will be globally launched on September 9 and this is when we can expect KTM to officially announce the price of the motorcycle for the Indian market as well. We expect a price of Rs 30,000 more than the Duke 390.
