Bangalore-based electric scooter manufacturer, Ather has announced that the production of the 450S has commenced. The Ather 450S is the brand’s most affordable e-scooter priced at Rs 1.30 lakh, ex-showroom.
Launched in India last month, the 450S sits below the 450X, starting from Rs 1.38 lakh. Powering the Ather 450S is a 2.9kWh battery with a 5.4kW motor that offers a top speed of 90kkmph and 115km range. Well, the scooter comes with a claimed charging time of eight hours and 36 minutes. Despite being the most affordable option, the 450S gets the new DeepView display and other features like smartphone connectivity, LED illumination and more.
Hardware on the electric scooter consists of telescopic front forks and monoshock for suspension. Meanwhile, braking hardware consists of a single disc at the front and rear with combined and regenerative braking as standard. The Ather 450S rides on 12-inch alloys shod with 90/90 front and 100/80 section rear tubeless tyres. Now, as for competition, the e-scooter goes up against the OlaS1, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.
