Most popular big bikes in December 2016

The note ban saw the sales and the demand for the big bikes go down drastically in December 2016. The number of Indian consumers researching for such bikes also decreased. The drop in research can also be because of the lack of interest in buying a motorcycle just before a new year.

Rank 3: Ducati Scrambler Icon

This Italian bike has held this rank for a long time but in December it almost lost this rank to a bike from its own brand – the 959 Panigale. The Scrambler Icon is the most affordable Ducati one can buy in India. Due to its affordability and the styling, the Scrambler is the third most researched big bike on BikeWale in December.

Rank 2: Benelli TNT 600i

The most affordable inline-four cylinder bike in India – the Benelli TNT 600i has a massive fan following. The sound from this engine is something that attracts majority of the customers. Its strong demand in the metro and tier 1 cities have got Benelli a large chunk of sales.

Rank 1: Harley-Davidson Street 750

The Harley-Davidson Street 750 is the only big bike that is made in India. Due to the heavy localisation, the American manufacturer was able to price this cruiser very competitively. Close to 75 per cent of sales for the American manufacturer comes from the Street 750. Just like in the last few months, the Street 750 is the most popular big bike in December.
