We Indians love fully-faired motorcycles for their sportiness and sharp styling. And these motorcycles, especially in the lower displacement, have high aspirational value as they resemble the high-end sportbikes that have decorated walls and dreams of nearly every young enthusiast. So here we list the top 5 most popular fully-faired motorcycles that were researched on BikeWale in 2020.
1.Yamaha R15 V3
On the top spot is the Yamaha R15 V3 that is priced at Rs 1.47 lakh. The motorcycle derives styling from the R1 and R6 superbikes and gets an aggressive front end with sharp lines flowing all through its bodywork. Moreover, it does not only stop at looks, the R15 V3 offers handling and performance to match. It comes powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 18.37bhp and 14.1Nm.
2. KTM RC 125
The KTM RC 125 comes in second and is coincidentally a rival to the Yamaha R15. Priced at Rs 1.61 lakh it costs a considerable premium over the Yamaha but is the most affordable fully-faired KTM in India. Borrowing its styling from the RC 390, the RC 125 sports dual-projectors upfront with LED DRLs, a sleek and sharp fairing along with an upswept tail section. It’s 124cc, single-cylinder motor is liquid-cooled and produces 14.5bhp and 12Nm.
3. KTM RC 200
On the third spot is the KTM RC 200 that costs Rs 2.01 lakh. It looks similar to the RC 125 although its paint schemes set it apart. It is offered in a choice of two, dual-tone colours- black with orange and orange with black and white graphics. Built on a tubular trellis frame, the KTM RC 200 is powered by a 199cc engine that does duty on the KTM 200 Duke. This engine produces 24.6bhp and 19.2Nm.
4. TVS Apache RR 310
The Apache RR 310 is the flagship model in TVS’s Apache range. It changed the game in its 2020 avatar by offering riding modes that alter the power output, ABS and throttle response. Moreover, in terms of features, the RR 310 also comes with ride-by-wire, slipper clutch, and a Bluetooth-enabled TFT screen. Powering the motorcycle is a 313cc, single-cylinder engine that is capable of churning out 33bhp and 27.3Nm. TVS has priced the Apache RR 310 at Rs 2.48 lakh.
5. KTM RC 390
KTM seems to have dominated the fully-faired motorcycle category in India by offering three products to choose from. The final spot is taken over by the RC 390 that is the most expensive on this list and costs Rs 2.56 lakh. While it misses out on many features that the KTM 390 Duke comes with, it is the only option for buyers wanting tremendous amounts of power in a fully-faired motorcycle under Rs 3 lakh. The RC 390’s 373cc engine produces 42.3bhp and 35Nm.
