2022 has been an adventurous year for the world of two-wheelers and team BikeWale. A few exciting motorcycles were launched, and we tested them all with the same vigour and passion as in the past. But before this year ends, it is time to tell you the most popular motorcycles of 2022 – the bikes that were searched the most on BikeWale. While there were a lot of motorcycles on this list, we decided to stick to only the top five to keep things simple and concise.
The new Classic 350 from Royal Enfield is the most popular motorcycle on BikeWale for 2022. In fact, this motorcycle has been topping this chart for the last few years. And this has been possible due to its strong brand recall and excellent modern retro styling. Plus, the new 350cc engine offers plenty of torque at low and mid-range, and the overall refinement has also gone up to a new level. The current sales trend of this motorcycle suggests it is likely to make it to the top next year as well.
The Raider 125 from TVS is the second most popular motorcycle of 2022. This is the first time a 125cc commuter has made it to the top five charts, and the credit goes to the overall styling and, not to forget, its ease of riding in the city and on the highway. Plus, this motorcycle is also known to churn out good fuel efficiency. It looks like these aspects made the Indian consumers search a lot about the TVS Raider 125.
The Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is third on this list, and we are not surprised. This motorcycle is one of the few bikes that Royal Enfield hasn’t updated with its new engine. But the brand recall this bike offers makes many Indian buyers walk into the showroom with a down payment. Then there’s also the overall macho styling that makes many people feel that they have arrived. Although this motorcycle became famous for its exhaust sound, that has decreased considerably due to the emission norms.
TVS Apache 160
TVS updated the Apache 160 a few months ago, so Indian consumers became quite curious about this motorcycle. For the Apache 160, there were a few things that many Indians admired — the overall design and the performance of the 160cc engine were two of them. But TVS realised that it was time to upgrade the bike to continue holding the market share in this competitive segment and updated it.
The Splendor Plus is the fifth most popular motorcycle of 2022, and honestly, it is shocking to see it here because it hasn’t received any significant updates. But like in the case of the Bullet 350, the Splendor Plus also has a solid brand recall in rural India, which contributes to a lot of sales for Hero MotoCorp. The Indian buyers trust the Splendor brand so much that they upgrade to its new year model after a few years of using their current bike.
