- 2019 GTS 300 introduced in Europe
- Is the most powerful Vespa
- Gets revised bodywork, new features
Piaggio has launched Vespa’s most powerful scooter ever. The 2019 GTS 300 that was unveiled at the 2018 EICMA has been introduced in the European market.
The 2019 edition of the GTS 300 is now powered by a new high performance engine (HPE). This single-cylinder motor churns out 23.8bhp and peak torque of 26Nm. This motor is mated to a reworked CVT transmission.
On the aesthetic front, the GTS 300 gets updated steel bodywork. It sports a new LED headlight, along with a new saddle covered with anti-slip fabric. The underseat storage can hold up to two half-face helmets. This Italian scooter has been loaded with some interesting features like Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster and also bike finder app. The rider can use the application to locate the scooter in case it’s parked in crowed parking lots. The TFT screen also shows the usual ride data like fuel economy and speed. It is also equipped with USB port for charging smartphones. The traction control system and ABS are standard on this scooter.
This scooter is available in five variants, the GTS, GTS Touring, GTS Super, GTS SuperSport and the GTS SuperTech. Unfortunately, the GTS 300 won’t come to India anytime soon, as there’s no market for such large capacity scooters.
