Moto Guzzi has unveiled the Verde Legnano V7 Racer, a special edition motorcycle which pays tribute to the iconic 1971 Telaio Rosso Moto Guzzi V7 Sport. The motorcycle gets its name from the ‘Verde Legnano’ lime green paint scheme which adorns this motorcycle.
The original V7 Sport was designed by Lino Tonti in 1971 and was one of the first five-speed motorcycles capable of clocking 192kmph (120 miles per hour). Powered by a 748cc V-twin engine, the initial run of the V7 sport sported a red frame and was limited to just 150 units. For the modern special edition motorcycle, the Italian manufacturer has ditched the chrome tank in favour of a lime green café racer styled tank.
The Verde Legnano V7 Racer is powered by a 744cc, 90-degree V-twin engine producing 49.6bhp and 58Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed gearbox and is housed in a red coloured double cradle tubular frame with detachable rear subframe. Priced at USD 10,999 (Rs 6.83 lakh), the Verde Legnano Special Edition V7 Racer will be produced in a limited run of just 50 motorcycles and will be available only in North America.
