- Sports neo-retro styling
- Features a few revisions to its bodywork
- Expected to debut at the 2018 EICMA.
The Moto Guzzi V85 adventure-touring motorcycle has been spotted testing.
The spy shots reveal that the bike has received a few revisions to its bodywork as compared to the concept motorcycle that was showcased at the 2017 EICMA. It gets a sharper and more muscular fuel tank which misses out on the faux intakes that featured on the concept.
The bike also seemed to make do with a conventional headlamp unit, along with a revised headlamp guard to protect the unit. The test mule also sported an engine guard which seemed to be in its nascent stage, although we expect it to look like the one on the concept when finished.
The V85 is likely to get luggage racks as standard at the rear and sides that also act as a guard for the upswept exhaust. The bike also gets a distinctive raised mudguard, tall windscreen, fork protectors and spoked wheels to boost its off-road capabilities. Powering the V85 is a new 850cc V-Twin engine that produces 80bhp. This unit is mated to a final shaft drive and will be the base for future Moto Guzzi motorcycles.
Moto Guzzi is expected to reveal the production-ready version at the 2018 EICMA and will go on sale in global markets by early 2019. We can expect the bike to be launched in India sometime later next year.
