- Powered by the same engine as the standard model
- Unveiled at EICMA 2022
- Gets off-road-ready equipment
Moto Morini took the wraps off the X-Cape ADV-R 650 last year at the EICMA 2022. Now, the bikemaker has put it to the test in the real world at the Bassella Race in Spain. Here's a close look at it.
When compared to the standard model, the ADV-R immediately comes off as an even more off-road-centric motorcycle. It derives the same design as the standard X-Cape but packs a new windscreen, handlebar guards, fog lights, crash guards, and aluminum bash plate as well. It even features disc brake covers at the front and an additional console for navigation.
The ADV-R benefits from the same engine that we've witnessed on the base model. It's a 649cc parallel-twin motor dishing out 60bhp and 54Nm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The ADV-R gets a new SC-Project exhaust, which could lead to a small power bump. Moto Morini has also equipped the bike with Ohlins remote adjustable rear shock, and golden-coloured spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose Metzeler Karoo 3 rubber. Other features like ABS remain unaltered.
With the bike already out for a race, we expect the brand to make an official announcement for interested buyers as well. However, that could a take a while.
