Ducati has unveiled the Desmosedici GP18, their MotoGP bike for 2018 in Borgo Panigale, Italy.
The Desmosedici GP18 gets a revised fairing and brand new livery, although it still prominently features Ducati’s red and white racing colours. It also gets white and grey stripes running from the tank to the lower fairing, complementing the riders’ racing suit colours. As far as aerodynamics are concerned, both bikes get the bulldog face-like aero-fairing. Ducati says that the bikes’ aerodynamics is still in the testing process and will only be completed after the second or third race.
The manufacturer claims that the bike is 2bhp more powerful than the 2017 machine. As with all manufacturers in MotoGP, no more details of the bike’s specifications have been revealed.
Ducati had a good season last year with Andrea Dovizioso taking home six wins and being close to 2017 champion Marc Marquez on most rounds. While Jorge Lorenzo had a rough start, he soon regained his pace and completed with three podium finishes.
The Ducati Team was the first to unveil their MotoGP bike for 2018 and we can expect the other teams to follow suit soon.
