Legendary motorcycle racer, Kevin Schwantz is all set to come to India this month. Kevin will be attending the Suzuki Gixxer finale that will be held at the Buddh International Circuit on September 26th.
After starting his professional racing career with Yoshimura Suzuki in 1984, Kevin moved onto the American Motorcyclist Association league, where he was offered a position. He then won the AMA’s season opening Daytona 200 in 1988 after which he was promoted to Suzuki’s 500cc Grand Prix team full-time. The legendary rivalry between Kevin and compatriot Wayne Rainey, which lasted seven years, added to the excitement of 2-stroke 500cc Grand Prix racing. After such brilliant performance, Kevin Schwantz won the 1993 500cc Grand Prix World Championship with Team Suzuki.
The Suzuki Gixxer Cup is organised by the MMSC and FMSCI where the Gixxer SF motorcycles are used. However, these race-spec models have been modified to suit the race track.
We are excited to have him here and we thank Suzuki India for it.
